Fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces is reportedly raging in the area of the Chernobyl nuclear facilities, near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

The information was reported by the Ukrainian President himself, Volodymyr Zelensky.

“The Russian occupation forces are trying to take over the Chernobyl nuclear facility. Our defenders are giving their lives so that the tragedy of 1986 will not be repeated,” Zelenski wrote, adding that this is “a declaration of war against the whole of Europe“.

The mayor of Kiev has decided to impose a curfew in Kiev, according to the Russian TASS agency.
