The body of the second pilot of the Japanese F-15 fighter jet that crashed in the Sea of Japan in late January, the day after the body of the first pilot was identified.
The two-seat Japanese fighter crashed into the sea shortly after taking off from Komatsu Air Base in Ishikawa Prefecture (central) for a training mission.
The body of the first pilot was recovered on Friday and yesterday Sunday it was announced that it was officially identified as that of one of the two pilots. It was also announced that the second pilot was found.
The staff did not release the names of the two fighter pilots. The Japanese Defence Ministry did not order the suspension of F-15 flights after the accident, the causes of which are not yet known.
