Ankara, taking advantage of the geopolitical circumstances, is developing even more its own drones and the content of the missions they can undertake, creating new potential threats in the Aegean.

The Turks deployed ANKA drones equipped with a sea mine detection system in the Black Sea. According to Ismail Demir, head of the Turkish defence industry, the drone will detect mines which will be neutralised by Turkish submarine destruction teams.

So far the Turks have detected three mines in the Black Sea. The Black Sea, which is the water of Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Turkey and of course Ukraine and Russia, has become a theatre of warfare since 24 February.

Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of laying mines in the Black Sea. The ANKA is a large Turkish Navy drone equipped with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SA Radar), a radar developed by Aselsan.
