H.Akar to NATO: “Lets talk about S-400”

Turkey is ready to discuss with NATO the concerns over the purchase of Russian S-400 , the difficulties in using the system with F-35 fighters, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said, Ria Novosti reports.
“We say: let‘s talk and let‘s decide. We will explain why we bought the S-400. He‘s not threatening anyone. If it causes any inconvenience when used with F-35 fighters, let‘s speak up and prevent it. If necessary, you can convene NATO. That is our view. We have to protect 84 million and 780 thousand square kilometers of our homeland from air and missile attacks,” Akar said, according to Anadolu News Agency.
Russia and Turkey signed a contract for the supply of four parts of the S-400 air defence missile system worth $2. 5 billion in 2017, with deliveries to the Turkish side taking place in the summer-autumn of 2019.
The contract included an option for another S-400 regiment package. At the end of August 2021, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said he had no doubt about the purchase of a second S-400 regiment from Russia.
